Nadiya Qudsi Book a call

Getting started

What happens in a first session

A lot of people spend weeks deciding whether to book, then arrive worried they'll say the wrong thing. You won't. Here's what the first session usually looks like.

We start with what brought you here

I'll ask what's been going on, how long it's been like this, and what you'd like to be different. You can answer in as much or as little detail as you want. If something feels too much to talk about yet, say so. We can come back to it, or not.

I'll ask about the rest of your life too

Sleep, work or studies, family, friends, what helps and what makes things worse. This gives us the bigger picture, because stress rarely lives in one place.

"Feel less anxious before exams" is a perfectly good goal.

We agree on a direction

By the end we'll have a rough idea of what we're working on. "Argue less with my parents" is a perfectly good goal too. We'll also agree how often to meet.

How you'll know it's working

Not every session feels good, and that's normal. But over a few weeks you should notice you understand yourself a bit better, or you're handling one thing differently. If you don't feel it's helping, tell me. Changing the approach is part of the work.
